The background
I started in technology project management, working on large SAP implementations across Europe and Asia. The work was technical but the problems were always human: teams that did not understand the change, stakeholders who had not been consulted, timelines that assumed everything would go right.
Over twelve years I worked on programmes in banking, professional services, and energy services. I got good at the parts most project managers avoid: the difficult conversations, the governance work, the change management that happens before a rollout, not after it.
When AI adoption started landing on business owners' desks, I saw the same pattern I had seen with every other technology wave. The tools were changing fast. The questions business leaders needed to answer were not technical. They were about delivery, change, and trust, and about who gets included.

Why responsible AI
I came to AI ethics because I have lived the harder path into tech. As someone who upskilled from a non-technical background, I have seen who gets left behind when technology races ahead faster than people can follow: often women, mid-career professionals, and the non-technical teams expected to just adopt and cope. Responsible AI, to me, is not a compliance checkbox. It is about keeping humans at the centre of adoption so AI lifts people up instead of widening the gaps. That is the same reason I mentor, and it is the throughline of everything I do.
